Description

Formerly Hotel Crowne Plaza, the CS Madeira Atlantic Hotel is a  very airy and ultra-modern hotel, characterised by the open-plan minimalistic design that is the hallmark of Philippe Starck. The CS Madeira Atlantic boasts a magnificent sea-front position.

The all-glass concept makes maximum use of natural daylight, and from almost everywhere in the hotel there are spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel offers extensive facilities and a wide choice of activities. Leisure options include the Thalassotherapy Thalgo Marine Spa, two indoor pools, squash courts, a tennis court and a fitness centre with steam room, sauna, plunge pool and jacuzzi. In addition to the hotel’s stunning architecture and appearance there is an amazing sea-level platform. Reached by two lifts, it provides access to the swimming pools, bar and one of the restaurants.

An independent scuba diving school also has a base here. Guests can enjoy a variety of fine cuisine prepared to order from the grill or may choose from the Atlantic buffet, which changes daily. Light snacks are served all day and, at the beach cocktail bar, award-winning barmen mix and shake fresh fruit drinks and create exotic cocktails. The hotel has a selection of bars with regular music - nearby the  lively Irish pub offers live music and Irish fare both indoors and alfresco on the terrace. Funchal centre is about 2 km away.
