A recent addition to Madeira’s new wave of ‘boutique’ hotels, cool, modern, yet intimate,  Madeira Regency Cliff Hotel enjoys lovely views over the bay and ocean.

The roadside entrance of this small, stylish hotel gives little idea of the sleek decoration and other delights within. Set on a bluff in a developing area a mile or so west of the capital the balconies of each room afford lovely views of Funchal Bay or the ocean. Dining on the terrace of the Mistral restaurant is a gastronomic and romantic experience.

Informal lunches may be taken at the Oceanus bar, by the heated outdoor pool, a few floors down. Further attractions are a heated indoor pool, fitness room and Turkish bath. There is direct access to the sea promenade, where extensive landscaping around the public lido contributes to the allure of the surroundings.

A complimentary shuttle bus and frequent public transport connects with Funchal centre.
