Description

Built in a traditional Portuguese-colonial style, the Madeira Regency Palace |Hotel is part holiday-ownership resort, part hotel, built around sub-tropical gardens with ponds and waterfalls on a slope virtually on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.

The rocky beach below is reached by a lift and a short walk. As one of Madeira’s premier resorts the hotel offers excellent standards of comfort and a wide range of leisure facilities. There is a well-equipped health club with indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, Turkish bath, Scottish power showers, spa centre, squash and tennis courts, bowling green, mini-golf and children’s playground. Golf at Madeira’s two courses is easily arranged.

The lovely outdoor swimming pools are on two levels and served by the Ilhéus swim-up bar for drinks and snacks; during the summer months barbecue lunches, the manager’s cocktail and special dinner parties are held here.

A delicious buffet breakfast is served in the São Lourenço restaurant, and for dinner, guests can choose between the à la carte menu, international buffets or local specialities; coffee and Madeira wine can be enjoyed afterwards to the relaxing sounds of the piano. The Terrantez Bar has a selection of cocktails, whilst tea and pastries are served in the Primavera lounge every afternoon. Several good restaurants and bars are located nearby and a courtesy bus runs to Funchal 4 km away.
