Description

The architect of this elegant hotel designed it in the style of a big traditional riad, and insisted it be painted in the original purplish colour of Mogador, as the still unspoilt city of Essaouira was formerly known. Although modern (it opened December 2000) the   feels warm and welcoming.

It is about a 5-minute walk from the gates of the intriguing old town and just across the road from the sandy beach where there is a beach-side restaurant offering lunch. The Sofitel Thalassa Mogador`s  thalassotherapy spa is a perfect place to relax after a day seeing the sights and offers the latest health and beauty treatments based on the use of seawater and natural products. You can also tone up in the fitness room. The main restaurant serves local cuisine and low-calorie dishes. There is a snack bar by the pool, which is heated as required, as well as an indoor bar with regular live music.
