Description

A centrally located ocean-front hotel on the doorstep of the picturesque old town and overlooking the bay and marina, the Porto Santa Maria Hotel blends seamlessly with the backdrop of Funchal’s architecture.

It has windows and terraces all over. For leisure, look no further than the health club with jacuzzi, or the pool, partly indoor, partly outside, where there is a pool bar, terrace and garden. Guests enjoy an excellent buffet breakfast, often taken on the terrace overlooking the ocean. With the hotel so close to the centre, there are numerous atmospheric restaurants, bars, cafés and shops nearby.

There is access to a small pebble beach and the immediate area, unusually, is without steep steps. The public gardens and funicular are almost next door and the yacht marina close by. Golf can be arranged at the Palheiro and Santo da Serra courses.
