Reid's Palace has always enjoyed a good name and more than 110 years of history and style coupled with modern facilities have given it a well deserved reputation.

Up to five excellent restaurants offer a variety of dining experiences, from buffet lunches served by the pool to traditional afternoon tea, and fine creative French cuisine which is served in winter in Les Faunes and in summer in Brisa do Mar and Italian specialities in the Ristorante Villa Cipriani (all year). Guests can watch evening movies in Salon 28 or dance in the elegant cocktail bar.

The hotel is set in 10 acres of beautifully maintained private sub-tropical gardens and its executive bus operates a regular free daytime service into old Funchal, which is about 2 km downhill to the east.
