Aghios Nikolaos

Aghios Nikolaos

Aghios Nikolaos

The 'bottomless' lake around which many restaurants have terraces more noted for their picturesque setting than gastronomic excellence is actually 'only' just over 200 ft deep - still respectable!

The city, usually called simply 'Aghios', was named after the little Byzantine church of St Nicholas nearby. It has seen a staggering boom in tourism in a couple of decades but retains undeniable flair and charm.
