Although little remains of Phoenician Carthage, there are still many Roman sites to wander around, including baths, villas and a spectacular amphitheatre which houses the popular Carthage International Summer Festival. When you have tired of sightseeing, relax over a glass of Tunisian wine - the reds and whites are extremely good. Wine making dates back to Carthaginian times as shown on ancient mosaics and wall murals dotted about the place.
