Owing to a Mediterranean type microclimate, the Estoril Coast has mild winters and an ideal summer temperature which never gets too hot. The autumn is ideal and is like a second spring.

It starts in Carcavelos, 15 kilometres from Lisbon, and stretches as far as Guincho, striking a harmonious blend between the delights of the land and the enchanting beauty of the sea. Beaches on the Estoril Coast face south in a continuous line from the Tagus estuary and are known for their calm waters and fine sand.

All modern facilities are available - changing rooms, beach tents, shades, restaurants, bars, etc. Carcavelos a wide, long beach, very popular and ideal for surfing. Parede climate is exceptionally rich in iodine, ideal for bone disorders. Two of the best orthopaedic hospitals in Europe are situated here.
