Mgarr![]() Relatively untouched by mass tourism, and steeped in myth, the islands provide a tranquil, carefree hideaway. Stroll around unspoilt villages, search out rocky coves and walk through scenic countryside, covered in flowering herbs, oleander and cumin, after which Comino was named. Being so small, you will never be far from the sea, where the diving is some of the best in the Mediterranean. Beaches are never crowded and the golden sands of Ramla Bay are a delight. Comino?s shimmering Blue Lagoon is a sight to behold. Vegetables and fruit are homegrown so eating out is a real treat. You will find excellent restaurants at Xlendi and Marsalforn, and fine cuisine at many quality hotels. In Victoria, the tiny capital, you will find a few shops, craft centre and a market selling exquisite lace. Otherwise, stroll around Baroque churches, forts and the archipelago's best-preserved prehistoric temple, Ggantiia. |
