Paphos

Being the island's first capital, Paphos is rich in history. Marvel at the spectacular mosaics in the Houses of Dionysus and Aion, and climb among the fourth century Tombs of the Kings. Pissouri Village is charming with its narrow streets and family-run tavernas - indulge in a typical meze, or dine on freshly-caught fish in Latchi - you won't find any better. If you want to get off the beaten track, explore the protected Akamas wilderness, famous for its loggerhead turtles at unspoilt Lara Bay.
